They sell a quick disconnect at Tractor supply (around 12-15 bux) that installs in the negative cable,and it disconnects the battery from draining with a simple flip of the switch...A good fully charged battery cN an sit for over a year without fully discharging beyond its ability to be recharged,and make certain that you read the fine print on the "more economical" tenders/float chargers as a lot of them do not automatically shut off when the battery is peaked out,and will continue to deliver juice which can,and will fry your battery...HoDepot has Battery Tender brand tenders on sale for about 15bux periodically,and their what's known as a smart tender=they cut off the juice when the battery is fully charged...Battery chargers,and tenders are not the place to skimp imho as they will cost you a whole lot more in the long run in fried batteries,busted knuckles,down time,sad looks on kid faces,etc...
